Douglas Arthur Mitchell (1943-2022)Douglas (Doug) Arthur Mitchell - age 79, passed away at his home in Ocotillo, CA on July 9, 2022. He was born on May 9, 1943 to Walter Arthur & Mildred (Bolinger) Mitchell in San Diego. He married Alice Beaumont on January 20, 1962.Doug was a very hardworking man all his life. He held a hat of many trades from mechanics, carpentry and linesman. He finished his working career building the Calipatria State Prison and then working at Centinela State Prison where he retired as Chief Engineer. During his life, he raced stock cars and Baja and he enjoyed fishing and watching NASCAR racing. Doug is survived by his wife Alice (Beaumont) Mitchell, sister Marylynn (Mitchell) Dulawan, sister-in-law Charlene Mitchell, two brother-in-laws Glenn (Butch) Beaumont and David Beaumont, four children Doug (Cindy) Mitchell, Don (Lori) Mitchell, David Mitchell, and Danae' (Mitchell) Perry, 10 Grandchildren and 17 Great-Grandchildren, along with many nieces and nephews.In addition to his parents, he was proceeded in death by his brother Walter John Mitchell.
