Aguilar, GustavoGustavo "Gus" Aguilar, 56, from Brawley, California, passed away on March 11, 2022. He was born on August 14, 1965, in Brawley, California, to Daniel Aguilar and Berta Parra. Gus graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1983.He later moved to Medford, Oregon where he met Tracy Byle in 1989. He would become stepfather to Tracy's daughter, Brianna Ashe. Gus and Tracy would later have four children: Samantha (1992), Jessica (1994), Jennifer (1995), and then Gustavo J. Aguilar, Jr. (1996).He was a successful electrician working in Denver, San Diego, Medford, and various other locations in the western United States. He also worked as a sporting goods sales associate where he gained knowledge in his favorite pastime in fishing. Gus spent all his free time on the Rogue River fishing for salmon and steelhead fish, where he met many of his long-time fishermen friends. Gus would return to live in Brawley in 1999 to live with his mother. While in Brawley, Gus enjoyed watching his Chargers, USC Trojans, and his San Diego Padres. He was also an avid NASCAR racing fan. He found joy in his electronic device business venture by programming and selling Firesticks. Gus loved spending time with his newfound friends and family. He particularly loved his Blue Juice Fridays with brothers, Rick "Ross" Ruiz, Cesar "C-1" Leon Daniel "Quifer" Leon, Emilio "MILIO" Ponce, Paul Zamarripa, Karlo "Karl" Gutierrez, Luciano "Luscious Brown" Hernandez, Andres "Miklo" Lara, Francisco "Pancho" Medina, and Frances Aragon.He is preceded in death by his father, Daniel Aguilar, daughter, Jessica, grandmother, Viviana Salcido, and aunt Elena Minjarez. He is survived by his mother, Berta Parra; Brianna (Jennifer Schlegel), Samantha (Timm Gunn), Jennifer (Rodolfo Contreras), Gus Jr. (Tatiana) Aguilar; numerous grandchildren: (Adrian, Isabella, Amaya) Delgadillo, (Nia, Mila, Aria) Gunn, Camila Contreras, (Mellany, Gianni, Geno, Theo) Aguilar, sister, Elizabeth and Thomas Ryckman, niece, Becky Cosio, Chelsea, and Aaron Archuleta, Thomas and Venessa Ryckman, uncle Santos B. Salcido, cousins, Dora (Jose "Pepe" Montesinos), Santos and Paula Salcido, Guadalupe and Adrian "Thumper" Cruz, Rachel and Phillip Ortiz, Luis Aguilar, Sr., Luis Aguilar Jr., Natalia Aguilar, Aleczander Aguilar, Veronica, and Jaime Garcia, Norma Reyes, Raul, and Lupita Parra, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and life-long friends.Viewing for Gustavo will be held on Thursday, March 31, at Fry's Chapel from 5:00 pm- 8:00 pm, and Rosary at 7:00 pm. Mass will be held at St. Margaret Mary on Friday, April 1, at 10:00 am. Burial will follow mass at Riverview Cemetery. Family and friends will gather at ACC American Citizen's Club Hall after the burial.
