Inez M Chavez Obituary (1931 - 2022)

Inez M. Chavez passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loved ones on September 21,2022 at the age of 91. Born on January 21,1931 in Phoenix, Arizona to her late parents Sotero Martinez and Juana Zabala. She graduated from Calipatria High School in 1950 and then went to work for Art Caston in Calipatria. A few years later, she married her husband, Frank Chavez who she was married to for 36 years. They made their home in Brawley. He preceded her in death in August of 1991. She continued working at Town Shops, Imperial Hardware, and Vogels in Brawley. She will always be remembered for her dedication to the choir at Saint Margaret Mary church in Brawley. She will be greatly missed. She is preceded in death by her son Lawrence Chavez, oldest grandchild, Frankie L. Chavez, sister Pauline Castro and brothers Eusebio Sabala, and Luis Martinez. She is survived by her three children, Frank Chavez Jr (Irene), Ernest Chavez (Paty), and Dianna Marquez all of Brawley. She has 11 grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held on October 7,2022 at Saint Margaret Mary Church as follows: Visitation: 8:30 am - 9:00 am Rosary: 9:00 am - 9:30 am Mass: 9:30 am - 10:30 am She will be laid to rest at the Riverview Cemetery in Brawley following the mass. Her Celebration of Life will be held at ACC Hall in Brawley from 12pm-3pm.
