Mark Anthony Luna

Mark Anthony Luna, 46, of El Centro, CA passed away in Riverside, Ca surrounded by his loved ones on December 13, 2021. Mark Anthony was born July 4, 1975, in Calexico, Ca. Mark Anthony's interest in Law Enforcement started when he joined the Calexico Police Explorers at the age of 14. He later became a Reserve Police Officer with the City of Calexico and then joined the Imperial County Sheriff's Department where he served as a Correctional Deputy and later became a Deputy Sheriff. Mark Anthony was then hired by the City of Indio as a Police Officer and completed his Law Enforcement years. Mark then started his Educational career which led him to teaching and Coaching at both Southwest and Central Union High School. He was last employed by Brawley Elementary School District as a Campus Security Officer. Wherever Mark worked he always had the students' best interest at heart. Mark would always encourage the kids to do better and taught them life lessons. He never hesitated to go the extra mile. Mark was also actively involved with Imperial County 4H where both Alexia and Iliana were members. He will truly be missed by his family, friends, and co-workers. Mark Anthony is survived by his wife Rosy I. Luna, Daughter Alexia P. Luna, Children Iliana Alvarez, Esteban Alvarez, Anthony Alvarez, Sophia Alvarez, and Alonso Vega. He is also survived by his sister Claudia Luna, Nephew Andrew Luna Perez and Niece Annette Perez, Father-In-Law and Mother-In-Law Andres & Estela Garcia, as well as numerous Brothers/Sisters-in-law. He was preceded in death by his parents Horacio U. Luna and Mary "Tuty" Luna. Visitation and Rosary will be held at St. Mary's Catholic Church in El Centro, Ca on Saturday, January 22, 2022, at 8:00 a.m. followed by a funeral mass at 10:00 a.m. Mark Anthony will be cremated followed by interment at a later date.
