Valente Redondo

Valente Redondo Sr. Apa, 82, of Calipatria, CA passed away on January 17, 2022 in Brawley, CA. He was born on May 23, 1939 in Inde Durango, Mexico.Apa lived in Calipatria,California for over 60 years and worked as a tractor operator for a few farms in the Imperial Valley. Last being for Troy Caston at Troy Caston Farms working under lead foreman Joe Hernandez till Apa had to retire due to health reason. He also worked on weekends for Mark Batatian managing and maintaining lake. He enjoyed telling stories to anyone who would sit to chat with him about all the work he did throughout the years.Apa was a man who enjoyed the little things in life and spending time with his family. He was someone who encouraged his loved ones to do the things they loved and always spoke highly of them when asked about them. Apa was stern, generous, loving, and had a sense of humor that could make anyone laugh. Although he could seem very stern and strict, once you tapped through that facade, he was a very caring and all who met him received a nickname that could leave a smile on their face and leave them feeling loved. Apa was a family man through and through, who loved and cared for his loving wife, parents, siblings, children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.He was preceded in death by his parents, Maxima Lucero Michel Redondo and Job Redondo; parents-in-law, Maria Cuevas Villanueva and Jesus Villanueva; sibling, Maria Refugio Villanueva; children, Ramon V. Redondo (2 months), Gustavo Tavi Redondo (28), Maria Figueroa (57), Job Jobby Redondo (50), and Jose Luis Figueroa (64) (son-in-law)He is survived by his wife, Elisa Villanueva Redondo of Calipatria, CA; sibling, Rita Guzman of Los Angeles, CA; children, Cecilia Redondo of Calipatria, CA, Ramon Redondo of Niland, CA, Laura Redondo (Matthew Sabatine) of Buckeye, AZ, Lurdes Redondo (Chinedu Ogana), of Glendale, AZ, Emily Rodriguez Redondo (daughter-in-law) of Brawley, CA and Valente Jr Redondo (Sylvia) of Brawley, CA; and many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren.Visitations will be held on February 3, 2022 from 6 to 9pm at Frye Chapel & Mortuary in Brawley, CA. Following the Services on February 4, 2022 from 11am to 12:30pm followed by burial at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley, CA.
