Armida Reynoso Carpio
February 4, 1945 – September 15, 2026
It is with deep sadness and heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, and friend, Armida Reynoso Carpio, of Brawley, California, who passed away peacefully on September 15, 2026, at the age of 81, surrounded by her family.
Armida was a loving and caring woman whose greatest joy in life was her family. She devoted herself wholeheartedly to the people she loved and will always be remembered for her warm heart, gentle spirit, kindness, and the love she gave so freely to everyone around her.
She was the matriarch of our family, the heart that brought us together and the steady presence at the center of so many of our lives. She created a family rooted in love, faith, tradition, and togetherness. Her greatest joy was being surrounded by the people she loved, and she cherished the time spent with her husband, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.
In her younger years, Armida enjoyed aerobics and fitness walking. She also enjoyed Zumba, collecting Betty Boop items, and was an avid Los Angeles Dodgers fan. She especially loved baking her famous oatmeal cookies, attending church, and creating memories with those closest to her. Her home was a place where people felt welcomed, and her heart was always open to those she loved. Some of the most treasured memories her family carries are the simple moments spent together, gathered around her, sharing food, stories, laughter, and love.
Armida also dedicated many years to serving her community through her work with the Brawley Elementary School District, where she worked as a cafeteria worker. Her caring nature extended beyond her own family, and she spent many years serving and caring for the children and families in her community.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Benjamin Leon and Mary Leon; her siblings, Gloria Hernandez and David Deleon; and her beloved great-grandchildren, Micah James Carpio and Maya Luz Mercado.
She is survived by her beloved husband, Domingo Carpio, and her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Her children and their families include:
Martin Carpio and his wife, Cindy Carpio; Martins children, Amanda Mercado and her husband, Randy Mercado, Joseph Carpio and his wife, Milan Carpio, and Martin and Cindy’s daughter Karlee Carpio
Randy Carpio and his son, Chris Carpio
Angel Carpio and Frances, Angels children, Angel Carpio Jr. and his wife, Isabel Carpio, Esai Carpio, and Lauren Carpio
Vincent Carpio and his wife, Erika Carpio, and their sons, Dylan Carpio, Nathan Carpio, Jared Carpio, and Victor Lopez.
She is also survived by seven great-grandchildren, along with her siblings, Ben Leon, Rudy Leon, Yolanda Obeso, Rosie Fernandez, Sandra Chavarria, and Diana Araujo; numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members; and friends who loved her deeply.
Armida’s greatest legacy is the family she leaves behind and loved so deeply. The love she poured into her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren will continue to shape our family for generations to come. Her faith, kindness, traditions, and unwavering love will live on through all those fortunate enough to have been touched by her life.
Though she is no longer with us, her presence will remain in the memories we share, in every family gathering, in the recipes she passed down, in every batch of oatmeal cookies baked with love, and in the traditions that will continue because of her.
She will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
