Imperial, California
The family of Arturo Romo Sandoval is deeply saddened to announce his passing on July 27, 2026, at the age of 61 after a courageous battle with cancer. Arturo was born to Carmen Carrington on December 27, 1964, in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. After graduating from Calipatria High School, he worked for various power plants throughout the Imperial Valley before beginning a 24-year career with the Imperial Irrigation District as a Heavy Equipment Operator. Arturo retired in January 2025.
Arturo found his greatest joy in spending time with the people he loved, creating memories that will be cherished forever. He loved going to the gym, eating out, and football. He was a loving son, devoted brother, and cherished uncle with a strong Christian faith.
Arturo is survived by his mother, Carmen Carrington; his brother, Jim Carrington; his sister, Ana Fernandez; his nephews, Israel Carrington, Anthony Fernandez, and Alex Fernandez; his nieces, Megan Carrington, Cynthia Fernandez, Anita Fernandez, and Alexis Fernandez; as well as many beloved extended family members and dear friends who will miss him deeply.
Though our hearts are filled with sorrow, we find comfort knowing Arturo is now at peace and safely in God’s care.
