Esther Romero

Esther Romero, age 90, passed away peacefully on August 24, 2026 at Pioneers Hospital in Brawley. She was born to Pedro Ramos and Ana Maria Catabrana on January 17, 1936.

Esther moved from Nayarit, Mexico to Mexicali, BC at the age of 7. She later met her love, Arturo Romero, and they married on August 4, 1951. They relocated to Brawley with their children and she continued to reside there until her passing.

She worked for the Brawley Elementary School District for over 10 years as a cafeteria worker. Her other place of employment included Green Valley Farms where she worked seasonally for many years as a packing shed worker.

She is survived by her children, Miguel Flores, Patricia Delgado (Angel), Blanca Aguirre (Ray Guzman), Denise Romero (Tim), 12 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Arturo Romero; daughters, Alma Lopez and Laura Romero; sons, Arturo and Javier Romero; brother, Albert Ramos; and parents, Pedro Ramos and Ana Maria Catabrana.

Visitation and rosary will be held from 6 pm–9 pm on Sunday, September 13, 2026 at Frye Chapel & Mortuary located at 799 S. Brawley Ave. in Brawley. Mass will be held on Monday, September 14, 2026 at 10 am at Sacred Heart Church located at 402 S. Imperial Ave. in Brawley. Burial will immediately follow mass at Riverview Cemetery located at 4700 Hovley Rd. in Brawley.
