Heriberto "Eddie" Tovar Ramirez November 6, 1934 ~ October 14, 2023 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend, Eddie Ramirez on October 14, 2023 in San Diego. Eddie was born in Brawley, CA on November 6, 1934 to Ygnacio and Leonor Ramirez. Eddie attended Miguel Hidalgo School and graduated from eighth grade, where he then left school to work at his family's store. Eddie married Jennie L. Ramirez at St. Margaret Mary Catholic Church on June 10, 1956 and was happily married for 67 years. He worked for Spreckles (formally known as Holly Sugar) for 44 years until his retirement in 1998. Throughout his life, Eddie also worked in construction as a hobby, building houses for friends and family. Eddie was most known for his friendly smile and ability to make a new friend everywhere he went. He was more infamously known for always having a quick joke to tell. Eddie was a man of great faith, always praying for his family and anyone that needed it. At his core, Eddie was happiest with his children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren. He enjoyed watching the Dodgers and Padres, and taking his entire family to an annual Padres Game at Petco Park. He loved watching scary movies with his grandkids at home, and never turned down an opportunity to take them to the movies. Every school holiday, he would invite his family over for his famous pancakes, which we then called "Pancake Mondays." Other established traditions were Eddie's annual Easter Egg hunt, and an annual family reunion in the Laguna Mountains. The Laguna Mountains were Eddie's favorite place to hold his family reunion for over 40 years. He will be greatly missed leaving a lifetime of memories that will be cherished forever. Besides his parents, Eddie was preceded in death by his siblings Ignacio and Richard Ramirez, Clara Gonzales, Gavina Sabala, Maria Del Carmen Ramirez, sisters-in-law Florence, Lydia, and Lucy Ramirez, daughter in law, Rachel Ramirez and brother-in-law, Steve Gonzales. He is survived by his wife, Jennie L. Ramirez, son Edward (Eva) Ramirez, daughters; Barbara (Andy)Lopez and Diana (Joey) Jimenez, grandchildren; Edward, Erica, Andrea, Lisa, Maritza, Julian, Jo Karla, and Jarren, and great grandchildren; Leo, Evany, Bryce, Michael, Brody, RJ, Gracie, Camila, Lily, and Lucas, and his brothers, Salvador(Trini), Jesse, and Peter Ramirez, and numerous nephews and nieces. Services for Eddie Ramirez will be held on Thursday, October 26, 2023 at St. Margaret Mary Church, Brawley, CA. Viewing 8:30 am, Rosary 9:00 am, Mass 10:00 am, Burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery.
