Holtville, California
Lorenzo Tumbaga was born on November 5th, 1947 in Calexico, California. He spent most of his life in Holtville, California, where he built a life centered on family, community, and connection. Lorenzo was a devoted son who lovingly cared for his mother and father for many years. He found deep fulfillment in supporting them and his siblings by always bringing laughter and comfort into their lives. His generosity extended to his entire family, especially his nieces and nephews and great-nieces and nephews, whom he adored and enjoyed making laugh. Whether attending their events, giving them rides around town, or simply spending time together, Lorenzo was a constant and caring presence.
Lorenzo had a natural gift for conversation and took great joy in working as a waiter, where he formed meaningful connections with countless people throughout his time at La Quinta Country Club, The Chinese Buffalo in Holtville, and other establishments. He often reminisced fondly about these experiences, cherishing the relationships he built along the way. Among his favorite memories were his trips to the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, experiences he spoke of with great happiness. Lorenzo also found comfort in simple pleasures, such as spending time with the family dogs, Nico and Cashew, and caring for the many pets he loved throughout his life. In his quiet moments, he enjoyed relaxing with his favorite television shows and a cold Coca-Cola in hand. A faithful and active member of St. Joseph Church in Holtville, Lorenzo’s life was guided by his faith and his deep love for others. He now rests in eternal peace, reunited with his beloved parents.
Lorenzo is survived by his siblings, Lupe, Greg (Sarah), and Tony (Raquel) Tumbaga; his eight nieces and nephews, Mariah, Martin (Nicole), Adelina (Rick), Marina, Ariel (Amy), Hernan, Ruby, and Rachel; and his cherished great-nieces and nephews, Alexis, Isabella, Johnny, Jacob, Claire, Mia, Noah, Julian, Kendall, Princess, Damian, Matteo, Aaron, Joshua, Angel, and Jayden.
He will be remembered for his kindness, his humor, his unwavering devotion to family, and the love he so freely gave to everyone around him.
