Meri M Valencia Obituary (1949 - 2025)

Meri was called to heaven on October 2, 2025, surrounded by her family in Yuma, AZ. She was born to Cecilia Villa and Francisco Moraga in Benson, AZ. She was raised by her grandmother, Carlota in Benson. At the age of 15, she came to live with her mother and family in Brawley, CA. She graduated from Brawley Union High School in 1968. Meri worked in the medical field at El Centro Regional Medical Center and Pioneers Memorial Hospital in the Nuclear Medicine and Radiology Departments. Meri retired as Office Manager from the Radiology Department at Pioneer Memorial Hospital. Meri enjoyed spending time with her family, friends, and especially with her husband, Arnold, as they would take cruises, go to the casinos, and visit family. She is preceded in death by her parents, and siblings: Helen, Frank, Juan, Charlie, Freddy, Tony, Josie, and the love of her life, husband Arnold Valencia. She is survived by children: Kenny, Karen (Pancho), Dianna (Bert), Carlos (Linda), and Birdie (Jesse). Grandchildren: Aleeza, JR, Josh, Kenny, Tina (Ron), Markie, Taylor (Kevin), Miranda (Brian), Nico, Sarah, and Alan (Jacqueline). Great-grandchildren: Madison, Kayden, Marcus, Holly, and Silas. Siblings Robert, Norberto, Nancy, and Eva. Her relationship with our Lord gave her peace as she now rests in his eternal care. She will be loved and missed by her family and all those who knew her. On Friday, October 24, 2025, at Christ Community Church, 516 Main St., Brawley, CA (entrance is in the back, across the American Legion Hall). A Celebration of Life will begin at 9:00 am, followed by a Church Service at 10:00 am.
