RICHARD "RICKY" DIAZMar. 15, 1974 - Jan. 27, 2022 Services will be held Thursday, February 17 for Richard Diaz, lovingly known as Ricky, of Brawley who passed away Thursday, January 27 at the age of 47. Visitation will be from 8 to 10 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Church in Brawley with Rosary being said at 10 a.m. Funeral Mass will follow at 11 a.m. Ricky will be laid to rest at Riverview Cemetery immediately following Mass. Ricky was born to Richard and Theresa Diaz on March 15, 1974 in Brawley. He attended schools in Brawley, graduating Brawley Union High School Class of 1992, and was voted Best Smile by his peers. Ricky was employed with the Imperial Unified School District for 22 years where he also coached Varsity Baseball for years. Outside of work Ricky enjoyed spending time with family and his compas, keeping up with his active daughters, and the annual camping trip with "Los Camperos". Ricky is survived by his beloved wife, Bertha Diaz and their four daughters: Faith, Sevyn, Riki Jazz and Rae Love; parents, Richard and Theresa Diaz; sister, Patricia Sarmiento; nephews, Joseph Diaz, John Diaz, and Jacob Sarmiento; niece, Emma Diaz; adopted brother/cousin, Cornelio de Casa Jr.; along with numerous other family members and friends.
