Ronald Thomas

–

Brawley, California

Ronald Dean Thomas, affectionately known as Ron, was born on July 22, 1948, in Brawley, California. He lived a life centered around family, friendship, hard work, and kindness. Ron was a loving husband, family man, and loyal friend whose warm personality and generous spirit touched the lives of many.

Ron married his beloved wife, Bertha, in 1998 and together they shared 28 wonderful years of marriage. He lovingly welcomed Bertha’s family into his life and embraced them as his own, creating a family filled with love and cherished memories.

Professionally, Ron worked in the Water Control Center with the Imperial Irrigation District for 29 years. He was respected for his work ethic, dedication, knowledge, and commitment to his job. Ron took great pride in his work and developed many lasting friendships during his years with IID. Those friendships continued long after his retirement and remained an important part of his life.

One of Ron’s favorite places was his second home in the beautiful mountain community of Timberon, New Mexico. Surrounded by mountains and forest, Timberon offered Ron a peaceful place to relax, enjoy the outdoors, and spend time with his wife. He enjoyed the beautiful scenery, wildlife, cool mountain air, and the spectacular sunrises, sunsets, and star-filled nights. Whether exploring the mountains, traveling the scenic roads, or simply sitting back and enjoying the quiet, Timberon became a special place where Ron created many wonderful memories with family and friends. It was a place that brought him happiness, peace, and countless moments that will forever be cherished.

Those who knew Ron will remember him for his kind heart, generous spirit, wonderful sense of humor, and devotion to the people he loved. He had a special way of making people feel welcome and comfortable, and his laughter and presence could brighten a gathering. He never hesitated to lend a helping hand or share a good story, and his absence will be deeply felt by all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Ron is deeply missed by his beloved wife, Bertha; his family, Ruth, Adolph, Martha, and Mary; and his numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a lifetime of love, memories, and meaningful relationships.

Although his family mourns his passing deeply, they find comfort in knowing that Ron is now reunited with his parents, Allen and Irene Thomas, who preceded him in death. His family takes comfort in knowing that Ron’s memory will live on through the many lives he touched, the friendships he cherished, and the countless memories he leaves behind.
