Vivian Whittle

Vivian Whittle, lovingly known as “Dee” passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 17, 2026, at the age of 88.
Vivian was born on August 12, 1937, in Yucaipa, California, to William and Dorothy Manley. In the mid-1940s, the Manley family moved to Westmoreland, California, where Vivian attended school before later graduating from Brawley Union High School. During her high school years, she proudly performed as a majorette for the marching band.
Vivian was known for her strong work ethic, adaptability, and unwavering dedication to her family and community. She was a patient and caring teacher who assisted with special education classes at elementary schools in Brawley. Over the years, she also worked in agricultural businesses as a bookkeeper and, for more than 40 years, helped maintain the office and business operations of her family’s shared business. Vivian never shied away from hard work, whether in the office or out in the field.
Her love and constant desire to provide for others continues through her surviving family: her brother, John Manley (Tanya); her sister, Ginger Allie; her children, Don Earhart, Susie Sandberg, and Shawn Whittle; her grandchildren, Brandi Whittle, Brooke Whittle, Luke Whittle, and Danielle Earhart; and her great-grandchildren, Braelynn Evans and Riley Evans.
Vivian was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Whittle; her parents, William and Dorothy Manley; her brothers, Bill, Bobby, Lester, Dickie, Don, and Melvin; and her sisters, Myrtle and Violet.
Vivian will forever be remembered for her devotion to family, her willingness to serve her community, and her remarkable ability to adapt and accomplish anything she set her mind to.
Graveside services will be held on June 3, 2026, at 9:00 a.m. at Riverview Cemetery in Brawley, California.
